Dr. Hossein Ghauomi

Dr. Hossein Ghauomi is a family medicine doctor at Dar Al Kamal Hospital in Sharjah, caring for patients of all ages. Primary care is about your overall health, not one symptom at a time: he helps you stay ahead of problems, finds and treats many conditions before they become serious, and looks after chronic and infectious illnesses as well as emotional and mental health.

Prevention is at the centre of his work. He runs immunisation programmes for children and adults, gives travel vaccinations and travel health advice, arranges cervical screening and mammography for women, and offers a full range of general health check-ups, including the hospital's Executive Medical Examination.

For men, he provides comprehensive physical examinations, heart health checks with ECG, cancer screening, and the care of high blood pressure and high blood sugar. He also treats asthma, COPD and other chest conditions; stomach and bowel problems such as acid reflux, ulcers and irritable bowel syndrome, including colon cancer screening; headaches of all kinds; urinary and kidney problems; and joint and muscle pain. He also offers ear piercing.

For women, he provides comprehensive physical examinations and the care of diabetes and high blood pressure, depression and mood disorders, irritable bowel syndrome, acid reflux and ulcers, overactive bladder and urinary leakage, urinary infections and cystitis, and asthma, COPD and other breathing problems.

For children, he provides childhood immunisations, check-ups, and school and camp physicals, and treats asthma and other breathing problems, ear infections, rashes and allergies, fevers, and sore throats including strep throat.

At every visit he takes time to listen, explains what he thinks is going on and what the options are, and agrees the plan with you. Counselling and practical advice are part of that care for patients of every age.

Alongside his clinical work, Dr. Ghauomi is the Chief Executive Officer of Dar Al Kamal Hospital. He has also owned and run clinics and pharmacies, including a branch of Elaj Medical Centres in Ajman.
