About Dr. Hamid Esmaeil
Dr. Hamid Esmaeil is a general surgeon who also works in cosmetic surgery, and he has been part of the General Surgery team at Dar Al Kamal Hospital in Sharjah since February 2024. His everyday work covers the problems that most often bring adults to a surgeon: hernias of the groin, navel and abdominal wall, gallstones, appendicitis, haemorrhoids, anal fissures and fistulas, and lumps in the breast that need a biopsy or removal. Where it suits the condition, he uses laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery, which works through small incisions rather than one large cut.
A good share of his practice is smaller, same-day work: draining abscesses, removing lipomas, sebaceous and pilonidal cysts, warts and ingrowing toenails, taking excision biopsies, stitching cuts and cleaning wounds. He also performs circumcision for newborns, children and adults. On the cosmetic side, his background includes body contouring, fat transfer and the removal of skin lesions with attention to how the scar will look.
Dr. Esmaeil trained in general medicine at the University of Esfahan and worked for more than a decade as a general physician before completing a residency in general surgery at the University of Hamedan in 2013. From 2013 he practised as a general and plastic surgeon in hospitals and a private office in Sanandaj and Saghez, and between 2017 and 2022 taught surgery to medical students and residents at the University of Sanandaj. He holds a DHA specialist licence in General Surgery and worked at a clinic in Dubai before joining the hospital.
In consultation, he explains the options, including whether a problem can be managed without an operation, and goes through the risks and benefits of each so that you can decide together what happens next.
