About Dr. Aysha Khudija
Dr. Aysha Khudija cares for women at every stage of life at Dar Al Kamal Hospital in Sharjah, from family planning and pregnancy to gynecological surgery and care after menopause. She brings 18 years of clinical and surgical experience, including more than 12 years as a consultant in busy government hospitals in Pakistan and hospital practice in Dubai.
She studied medicine at King Edward Medical University in Lahore and completed a four-year residency with the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan, earning the FCPS in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is licensed as a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynecologist in the UAE.
High-risk pregnancy is at the centre of her work. She looks after women whose pregnancy is complicated by diabetes, high blood pressure or pre-eclampsia, bleeding before or after birth, previous caesarean sections or a twin pregnancy, through antenatal care, delivery and the postnatal weeks. She has particular experience with placenta accreta spectrum, where the placenta grows too deeply into the wall of the womb, and with complex caesarean delivery. She performs routine and targeted pregnancy scans, including Doppler monitoring.
For couples having difficulty conceiving, she carries out fertility assessment, ovulation tracking and ovulation induction, and manages polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Her gynecological surgery includes hysterectomy, myomectomy for fibroids, ovarian cystectomy and pelvic floor repair. She also provides well-woman check-ups, cervical screening, contraception and family planning, and treatment for heavy or irregular periods and chronic pelvic pain.
As a consultant in Faisalabad, she led high-volume obstetric units and trained more than 55 junior doctors and registrars in emergency obstetric care. She has published research on morbidly adherent placenta, postpartum IUCD expulsion and the link between body weight and menstrual cycles. She consults in English, Urdu and Hindi.
