Male Jawline Sculpting in Sharjah

What is male jawline sculpting?
Male jawline sculpting is a set of cosmetic treatments that define the line running from below the ear to the chin, and the angle where the jaw meets the neck. A strong, straight jawline with a clear angle and a forward chin is one of the features most associated with a masculine profile, and it can be built up with filler, revealed by removing fat, or both.
The male jaw is shaped differently from the female jaw, and the plan follows that. Treatment for men aims for a squarer angle at the back of the jaw, a straight lower border, and a chin that is broad and projects forward rather than a narrow, pointed one. Placing filler in the wrong pattern can soften a face instead of strengthening it, so the plan is drawn with the male shape in mind.
At Dar Al Kamal Hospital, Sharjah, jawline sculpting is provided within the Plastic Surgery department. Filler treatment is given by Dr. Noura Salim Salman, a general practitioner with privileges for dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections. Surgical fat reduction under the chin is performed by Dr. Hamid Esmaeil, Specialist General & Cosmetic Surgeon.
Who needs it
Jawline sculpting suits men who would like a more defined lower face, including those whose jawline has softened with age or weight change, those with a small or set-back chin, and those whose profile is blurred by fullness under the chin. The clinician assesses your face from the front and in profile, and checks three things: how much bone support the jaw and chin have, how much fat sits under the chin, and how firm the skin of the neck is.
- A soft jaw angle or small chin with little fat usually suits dermal fillers along the jaw and at the chin.
- Fullness under the chin with firm skin usually suits liposuction under the chin.
- Both can be combined, often with liposuction first and filler once the neck has settled.
- Loose neck skin or neck bands may suit a neck lift instead.
- A wide lower face from a strong chewing muscle can be refined with anti-wrinkle injections into that muscle.
What happens
Jawline filler is given in the clinic. The skin is cleaned and the points are marked with you sitting upright, because the jawline looks different when you lie back. A numbing cream is applied, and the filler, a firmer type suited to shaping, is placed close to the bone at the angle of the jaw, along the lower border and at the chin using a fine needle or a blunt cannula. The clinician checks your profile in the mirror with you as the shape builds, and you leave with the result visible straight away.
Chin liposuction is a short surgical procedure, usually a day case, performed under local anaesthesia with or without sedation. The surgeon makes a tiny incision in the crease under the chin, and sometimes behind each earlobe, and removes the fat through a fine tube, sculpting the area so the angle between chin and neck becomes clear. A supportive chin strap is fitted before you go home.
Preparing for it
For filler, avoid alcohol and, with your doctor's agreement, anti-inflammatory tablets and supplements such as fish oil in the days before, as they increase bruising. Arrive clean-shaven where possible, because beard hair makes marking and cleaning harder and the skin must be fully clean before injection. Tell the clinician about any dental work planned, as the jaw area is affected by both.
For liposuction, you have a health check, a review of your medicines and fasting instructions if sedation is planned. Stop smoking beforehand to help healing, and arrange a lift home. Men who fast in Ramadan often plan either treatment before or after the month, so that bruising and aftercare fit around the fast.
Afterwards
After filler, the jaw can feel firm and slightly swollen, and small bruises may appear at the injection points. Sleep on your back for the first nights, avoid pressing on or massaging the jaw unless you are told to, and avoid saunas, steam rooms, hot outdoor work and hard exercise for a short time. Shaving can restart once the injection points have closed, using gentle strokes. A review appointment lets the clinician check the shape once it has settled.
After chin liposuction, the chin strap is worn as the surgeon advises, and the area feels bruised and numb at first. The defined angle becomes clearer as swelling settles. Desk work usually resumes soon, while outdoor work in the Sharjah heat is best delayed until the surgeon agrees.
Contact the hospital urgently if skin near a filler area turns pale, grey or dusky, or becomes very painful, or if you notice any change in your vision. Contact the hospital urgently if the chin or neck swells rapidly after liposuction, or if you develop a fever or redness around a wound.

Frequently asked questions
What are the risks of male jawline sculpting?
Jawline filler can cause swelling, bruising, lumps, uneven shape and, rarely, a filler blocking a blood vessel, which can damage the skin and needs urgent treatment. Chin liposuction can cause bruising, numbness, uneven contour, infection and, rarely, a temporary weakness of the lower lip. The clinician explains these risks before you decide.
How long does jawline filler last in men?
Jawline filler is temporary and fades gradually as the body breaks it down. Men often have strong chewing muscles and a faster metabolism in the area, which can shorten how long it lasts. The clinician explains what to expect for you and when a top-up might be needed.
Will jawline filler make my face look feminine?
Jawline filler for men is placed to create a square jaw angle, a straight jaw border and a broad, forward chin, which are male features. A feminine look usually comes from filler placed in a pattern designed for women, so the plan is drawn specifically for a male face.
Can jawline filler be removed?
The most common fillers used for the jawline can be dissolved with an enzyme injection if the shape is uneven or there is a problem. The clinician tells you which type of filler is used and whether it can be dissolved.
Is chin liposuction better than filler for a double chin?
Chin liposuction removes fat under the chin, while filler adds definition to the jaw and chin. A double chin caused by fat is usually treated with liposuction, and a double chin that appears because the chin is small often improves with chin filler. Many men benefit from both.
Does male jawline sculpting hurt?
Male jawline sculpting usually causes mild discomfort. Numbing cream and filler containing local anaesthetic make injections more comfortable, and liposuction is done under local anaesthesia. Soreness afterwards usually responds to simple painkillers.
Is male jawline sculpting covered by insurance in the UAE?
Male jawline sculpting is cosmetic and is not covered by UAE insurance plans, so it is self-pay. The hospital gives a personal quote after your consultation.
